CSoP SYMPOSIUM - Thursday 29 September 2016
The symposium focuses on the following questions: Architectural practices worldwide have to deal with increasingly complex design requirements. How do practices acquire the ability to do so? What kinds and forms of knowledge are needed and produced in different types of practices? How are results, new knowledge and competences documented, shared and disseminated internally as well as externally? Is research itself now used as a strategic tool by architectural offices? How do research and practice in architecture mutually shape one another? The first edition of the CSoP symposium in 2013 at Chalmers Technical University in Gothenburg, Sweden. This years second edition of the CSoP symposia series brings together 6 internally renowned practices and includes a round-table discussion, including: Kieran Timberlake, SHoP Architects, Sn?hetta, Helen and Hard, void, and White. The second day is a PhD symposium in which PhD candidates will discuss their research with the invited practitioners.
