Changing the POV: Media and analyst coverage of Realize LIVE
Siemens Digital Industries Software
We help companies #TransformTheEveryday
Realize LIVE Americas 2024 was packed with a variety of opportunities to learn and share valuable insights and experiences. You heard coverage from our vantage point, but what about from others? Here’s what media and analysts had to say about Realize LIVE.

Kenneth Wong from Digital Engineering 24/7
“Inside the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, baby stroller-pushing parents in floral shirts and laptop-lugging executives in dark-blue suits crossed paths, where the walkways to the Shark Reef Aquarium and the Siemens Realize Live conference happened to intersect. While vacationers dipped and splashed in the hotel's 11-acre swimming pool outside, a DJ pumped pop music in the ballroom as the prelude to the keynote. In the late afternoon, as the sun began glowing softer outside, Tony Hemmelgarn, President and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, stepped up to the stage.
Historically, design and simulation software programs are not known for ease of use, but Hemmelgarn believes AI is about to change that. ‘Things like constraints, loads, forces, pressures, and temperatures can be really complex. If you don't put these constraints right, it's garbage in, garbage out, so you'll have a problem. With AI, you can enhance this process,’ he said. With an injection of natural language processing and reduced order models, Hemmelgarn believed, ‘We can start putting [these tools] in the hands of the generalist engineer.’”

“There was much to see in the Solutions Centre section of the event, where Siemens customers were invited to display new products and technologies.
‘The importance of maintaining a digital system is often overlooked,’ said presales solution consultant Marlene Haag. ‘But risk management is essential, especially when relying on the cloud.’
Digital transformation might require some risk management, but at Realize Live we saw the beginnings of Siemens’ cloud-based and AI-supported future.
It’s a move that is says will democratize its software portfolio and make it available to a wider range of companies. At the very least it opens up a world of new possibilities for what product development technology can become.”

?ABI Research's James Prestwood noted that..
"Siemens is striving to meet the need for these easy to deploy and scalable solutions with its Teamcenter X, Opcenter X, NX X, ZEL X, and Simcenter X offerings, with these service cloud platforms allowing manufacturers to rapidly access Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), MES, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), engineering platform, and simulation software. These solutions come with simplified pricing models (essentials to premium) and are designed to allow easy expansion of new functionality, enabling SMB manufacturers to rightsize their deployments, meeting companies where they are, rather than trying to force the use of a given solution set that is beyond plant requirements."

“Siemens Digital Industries Software annual Realize LIVE event was the usual firehose of information about the company’s direction regarding cloud-based offerings, artificial intelligence (AI) implications, updates on its headset partnership with Sony and its rapid expansion into smaller and mid-sized manufacturing operations. But a key theme revolved around the company’s vision of expanding use of BOMs (bills of material) data to drive digital thread enablement up to the enterprise and supply chain levels.
To deliver this, Siemens is expanding its [Siemens] Xcelerator as a Service portfolio to better fulfill vertical industry requirements as well as those of individual users. According to Siemens, the goal of [Siemens] Xcelerator’s SaaS products is to: Connect all tasks and processes on one platform, empowering everyone throughout the value chain to work together from anywhere, simultaneously, through the use of flexible, modular solutions running on an interoperable data backbone to integrate workflows from concept to manufacturing.”
