Changing Players and Shifting Paradigm in Recruiting

New players are changing the recruiting arena and the competition has begun! Players are strong and mighty with an ability to fight fiercely to become the Winner.

Let us see who will be the leading player/s in the next three to five years.

I foresee competition among Google, Facebook and Microsoft LinkedIn; each with its own strategies and segmentation.

Google with its launching of “AI powered Search engine for Jobs” and “Google Hire” will attract technology focused jobseekers; By leveraging its advanced machine learning and big data capabilities, Google will match job seekers with employer preferences and needs at unprecedented levels of accuracy and success.

Facebook with its large pool of billion users segmented by industry and interests is a great hunting ground for enticing media professionals, UI experts, part-timers and non-technical job seekers. Large enterprises may not adopt Facebook for recruiting in the near future because of Privacy and Security concerns.

Microsoft’s integration of Linkedin, Skype and Outlook created an attractive platform for enterprise/business users and middle management positions. Linkedin provides readymade references for jobseekers and/or employers. However, LinkedIn offers only profiles and no resumes. Hence, it needs enhancements to store resumes also.

What will be the new recruiting model?

Pay for Performance model (PFP - CPC/CPA) has been gaining ground over the Pay for Job Post(PFJ) model. Programmatic Ad buying is driving the Pay for performance model in optimizing budgets and attracting premium job seekers. Employers pay only for the resumes received rather than for the job posting, which may not guarantee satisfactory results. In US, it will put pressure on traditional job Boards like #Dice, #Monster, #Careerbuilder compared to #Indeed and #Ziprecruiter offering PFP model. It will take another three to five years for the PFP model to mature and replace the Job Posting model.

Dear Sir,? It was really one of the best post I have ever read as I feel it is informative with current situation.? I'm Ajay part of LinkedIn staffing solution and I feel what you said is correct however I have a different perspective in terms of CV's as its a closed ended book and one can put any skill sets in CV and upload to job portals. The way LinkedIn operates is a professional platform where people join us to connect with professionals and also to search jobs.? As per my experience in engaging with prospects of with customers the reason they want to evaluate or are associated with LinkedIn is because of genuine profiles as a person who is creating his profile and connecting with his colleague and company will not like to put a skill sets which he doesn't poses, which makes his/her profile genuine.? Hence I feel more and more companies are Joining hands with LinkedIn as a business partner.? Do let me know your thoughts on this? Thank you :)? Regards, Ajay Bohra
