Changing lives in Haiti!
We met Wendy Jean and his big smile 5 years ago when we first went to Haiti. He has 2 big brothers, Jerry and Berthony who help take care of him and their mom Cleette. They live in a rural area of Haiti called Lavannue where there is no running water or electricity. Cleette makes $1-$2 a day selling goods at the local market.
Like any child Wendy just wants to go to school and play with his friends. Wendy is handicapped and could not go to his special needs school as it was too far for him to walk. Your donations helped pay for a taxi ($2/day) to get him there. When he was at school a teacher noticed his challenges walking as he was on crutches. She took him to the hospital and an American doctor broke and reset his legs so now he is able to walk much better.
Today I got word that he is graduating and this fall with attend primary school full time!
Many times I think how we have changed people lives in Haiti. I also think how the people of Haiti have changed our lives. We have so much and they have so little.
