April marks National Stress Awareness Month. Stress is something that everyone experiences but reacts to in different ways.
Three out of every four Americans report feeling at least one symptom of stress in the past month. And 45 percent say they lay awake at night due to stress . That’s crazy to think about...
In today's fast-paced world, it can sneak up on us from various sources, including our daily routines and interactions on social media. While platforms like this one can be incredible tools for connection and inspiration, it's essential to recognize how they can also contribute to our stress levels.
In the corporate world, where deadlines, meetings, and expectations are constant, learning to manage stress becomes paramount.?
The good news is that while we can’t avoid stress completely, we CAN change how we respond to it.?
Taking small steps, like setting boundaries with technology, getting out for some fresh air, bonding over a cup of coffee with a friend, going out for a stroll with your pup, and seeking support when needed, can make a significant difference in our overall well-being.
“Learn what to expect when confronted with stressful circumstances. Prepare yourself so you are ready to perform when stress arrives. If possible, try to see a stressful situation as an opportunity to grow. Strengthen yourself with the help of others who have been there before and gotten through it. And learn to accept the things that you can’t control.” - Dr. Carolyn M. Mazure
This National Stress Awareness Month, I want to invite you to prioritize self-care. I know it’s easier said than done.. but let’s make a little effort. I assure you it’ll go a long way. It's OKAY to take breaks, unplug, and prioritize your mental health whenever you need it.?

7 个月Thanks, Diane, good reminder for self care. May I add something about the importance of building self care into our routines before we "need it "? A daily dose can go a long way toward long-term physical and mental well-being.
