Changhua Chemical Showcases Innovative Carnol? Polyols for Greener Polyurethane Solutions at PTIF 2024

From May 22 to 24, 2024, the highly anticipated "Polyurethane Technology International Forum (PTIF?2024)" was held in Shanghai. During?the?forum, Changhua Chemical's technical expert, Klaus-Dieter Schoen, delivered a presentation titled "Make Polyurethane Greener by Using CO2?as Raw Material: Introduction to Carnol? Polyols." He showcased the company's latest development, Carnol? PCE, which offers environmentally friendly solutions for polyurethane products by using carbon dioxide (CO2) as a raw material, thus leading the industry towards a low-carbon future.

In June 2022, Changhua Chemical entered into a strategic partnership with Econic Technologies in the UK to jointly advance the research and production of the CO2?polyether project. This project aims for an annual production capacity of 1.06 million tons of CO2?polyether, with an estimated annual CO2?consumption of 318,000 tons. By collaborating with local enterprises to capture CO2, this initiative significantly reduces local carbon emissions and provides a new raw material source for the production of high-value products, further promoting green economic development and achieving a win-win situation in environmental protection and economic benefits.
