When Threads first launched, people were ready to jump ship from Twitter (which had recently been renamed X) and find a new social media platform to call home. Here's the problem: Threads was incomplete and clearly rushed out the door.


Since then, we've watched them slowly add features that are standard on every other social media platform, but one important thing was still missing: API access. Without it, third-party tools can't interface with the platform for basic marketing functions like scheduling posts or producing analytics.


That's finally changing.

Threads is finally rolling out its API! That means more support is coming for the platform, making it easier for marketers to actually use it.


While this move alone probably won't bring marketers to the platform in droves, it removes a barrier that was keeping them away. Given enough time, Threads may still have hope of becoming the X replacement we all thought it would be.
