Changes to NCSC's Mail Check: Here's How to Stay Protected

ICYMI: the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has made the decision to stop providing DMARC Aggregate Reporting for their Mail Check users from 24 March 2025. People are advised to switch to an alternative tool.

This development puts the email security of many companies at risk, as active monitoring of their domains may come to a (temporary) halt. It is, therefore, of the utmost importance to quickly make a choice in alternative tools because these dangers are actually quite serious. But what exactly are these dangers, and what can you do to prevent losing your insights?

Public Sector at Risk: Fake Emails, Real Consequences

Increased popularity among cybercriminals

There is no denying that companies within the public sector are a popular target for cyber attacks. They often exchange a lot of personal data or have access to this type of information, which cybercriminals are very eager to get their hands on.

Higher Risk of Spoofing and Phishing

Every hour without reporting is dangerous for any business. The lack of insight means you can no longer see if your domains are being abused to send fake emails. This increases the chance of malicious parties stealing confidential information, spreading malware or causing financial damage.

Reduced email deliverability

Active monitoring can also prevent legitimate messages from accidentally being blocked or ending up in the spam folder. Due to the content of the messages, it is important within certain sectors that they always arrive.

Don’t Lose Your Defence

That is why it’s extremely important to arrange a seamless transition as quickly as possible and not to leave any dangerous gaps in your security.

Still want your mail checked and protected against spoofing and phishing? We’ll make sure you stay protected without any worries before the Mail Check service ends on March 24th.
