The changes in the foundry over the years

I visited this small foundry years ago. Two pictures I took during my visit.

You can see, the shot blasting equipment is working, and the dust is everywhere. Because there is no dust removal equipment, the air is terrible. In such an environment, the working conditions of the workers are really too bad.

You see, everyone is like this, so people do not feel bad. And because of the COST reason, the owner of the foundry lack of motivation to improve, and there is not enough external pressure to improve and upgrade.

This photo also shows that even if they have the modern molding and casting equipment, the production environment has not materially improved. The enterprise owner did not take seriously, the operators also didn't not consider this unacceptable.

We can imagine, in this situation, the quality level of the products is also in the low grade, it is difficult to have high added value. So most of the products are cast iron drainage grating, ductile iron manhole covers, cast iron trench grates, gray iron hydrant, casting farm machinery accessories and some outdoor cast iron parts. No high quality cast iron castings.

With the strengthening of environmental protection in China, if such foundries cannot be upgraded in time, the only thing waiting for them is to close the door and disappear.

Perhaps foundry costs will rise considerably, but, as we all know, the environmental damage from that low-cost is simply too big. We can't keep doing this. Something has to change.

Now, if you visit China, you will find some differences.

Many foundries have the complete mechanical equipment and there is a good working environment in the workshop. 

We are confident and can foresee that after this round of overall transformation and improvement, foundry enterprises will slowly abandon those low-quality, low value-added products, and have the ability to produce high demand high-end Casting The foundry industry will also usher in a new round of growth.
