Changes are Coming to Workplace Wellbeing

Workplace Wellbeing Specialist | Turning your workplace wellbeing concept into a set of actionable steps
This is the year of tangible outcomes, and that suits us just fine.
In my 13 years in the workplace wellbeing space I’ve seen a lot of changes.
When I started out it was all about data gathering and reducing physical injuries.
The focus then shifted to weight loss and chronic disease risk management (which is still where a lot of programs focus).
We then saw a big shift towards mental health management and reducing (or teaching people to cope with more) stress.
Then, a couple of years ago we saw a shift (thankfully) to a more holistic view of health and wellbeing.
The wider market started to recognise that people were whole beings and treating them as such would bring about improvements in all aspects of their health and lives, even the ones not being ‘focused’ on.?
Now, with the cost of living crisis well and truly underway and the changing nature of the job market, we’re starting to see another shift.
We’re collectively moving away from the lip service activities of the past and towards initiatives with practical, applicable, and measurable outcomes.
Organisations don’t so much want the one-and-done approach, because it’s difficult to measure if this is working or not, and instead want something they can use.
This is a fantastic evolution (and what Kinex Health has been focusing on all along) and one that will cement workplace wellbeing’s rightful place as a core business imperative, rather than a nice-to-have add-on.
In light of this, I think it’s worth mentioning what we’ve got coming up this year:
We're expanding our workplace wellbeing specialists.
Putting more specialists in more organisations, giving HR and leadership teams instant access to their very own wellbeing experts that can help plan, implement and measure all aspects of a workplace wellbeing program.?
Launching our Team Wellbeing Dynamics workshops.
Reinforcing micro-cultures and teaching leaders and their teams how to balance work and wellbeing practically and effectively. This will mean higher functioning teams with better work and wellbeing outcomes and yes, we’ll be able to measure that.

Unveiling a more effective (both in cost and outcome) alternative to EAP.
I couldn't be more excited about this.
It's everything you currently get in an EAP plus heaps more and with guaranteed greater engagement and outcomes for the same or less cost.
If it sounds too good to be true, it's not.
It's just the way the current system should have been running the whole time.
All our other cool stuff will keep going.
One on one health consultations, health checks, skin checks, massages, lunch and learns, wellbeing workshops, mental health first aid training, nutrition and cooking demonstrations, mental resilience training, habit change course, all that awesome stuff you can use to support your team, it's all still here.
This shift towards more tangible outcomes is going to make 2024 a turbulent and transformative year for workplace wellbeing and I for one can’t wait to get stuck into it.
For more info on this or what we’re doing this year, send me a DM and let’s chat.

My name is Phil and I'm a workplace wellbeing specialist.
Cool! But what does that mean?
It means I work with organisations to upskill their people so they can be healthy and well under any circumstances...
...whilst also helping the organisation to optimise their circumstances to make it easier for their people to be healthy and well.
If this sounds like something you could use, send me a DM.

IMO workplace wellbeing is an incredibly valuable and important serve but it's also an unregulated industry that has attracted a few too many sharks and snakeoil salesmen. A movement towards prioritising tangible outcomes and proof of impact will hopefully filter out some of these charlatans whilst also elevating great providers such as yourself and your team Phil
