Changeable By Design

Yesterday I wrote that our ‘speed of understanding’ may act against us in an evolving context. Whilst I was talking about our understanding of Generative AI, the principle holds more broadly too.

It speaks of certain capability we may need, but which are less intuitive. An ability to fracture certainty, to remain curious, to hold ambiguity, to seek difference, to reframe and re-contextualise before we are in crisis, to move before being told.

For me this speaks of leadership as a restless phenomenon and learning as a fluid feature.

Building teams not simply around what people know, and can do today, but rather on a broader framework of how they can learn, the networks and sense making structures they are effective within, and their ability to evolve.

Our legacy industrial style Organisations were built for stability: our Socially Dynamic ones must be built to change. Continuously.

Socially Dynamic ones, perhaps a shift towards Ecosocial Equilibrium (ecological social), a continious dynamic process of beneficial and holistic thru-flows, inflows and outflows about and for wellbeing and health of me and we, place and planet. Happy Days! ????????
