To Change Your Life, Change Your Conversations!

If you want to change your life, you have to change the conversations you are having and the people you are having them with.

 Yesterday I was privileged to host a mastermind session in my home with five of my fellow business owners and teammates. The session was facilitated by Anda Vranjes, our new regional sales leader for the southeast from our Corporate business partner. Everything about this session was different for me as compared to other business meetings I have hosted and was a cause for reflection as to how far I have come since leaving GE.

First of all, let’s talk meeting attire! I was dressed in my favorite Lucky ?? brand jeans with my new favorite top and scarf, feeling very relaxed, yet stylish. More like a “girl’s day out” vs a corporate meeting. No navy suits anywhere in sight!

 Secondly, I hosted these people IN MY HOME! And I was happy to host, as these people are not just “people I work with.” We all share a common purpose and set of values even though each of us came together via very different paths.

 Next, when we “went around the room” so Anda could get to know us, that was a huge part of the discussion, not a five minute exercise and down to business. She genuinely wanted to get to know us to better understand how she can help us be more successful. And for each of us attending, it was informative and sometimes surprising to learn how people of such different backgrounds all arrived at the same place.

 We have Eric T, showing up in his “Make it Happen” T shirt and ball cap. A successful landscape company owner for over 20 years, who was in fact celebrating the one year anniversary of selling his business. Eric now makes between $420,00-$550,00 a year with his successful network marketing business and his two fellow owners he invited yesterday are now his best friends. It all started for Eric because of a helicopter ride in Hawaii and a shared musical playlist taste! I will share Eric’s story in the next week.

 We have Steve R. Steve is a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the Air Force. Thank you for your service Steve! He had a previous network marketing business that he still gets residual income checks from, but his whole focus is around our health and wellness company and sharing the solutions to transform lives. Steve has been incredibly successful, winning cruises, trips to company meetings and was the number # seller of our most popular system in his first year. He is already making $112,00-$165,00 year and is in it for the long game. 

 Brandy W is an emergency room nurse who has been able to cut her schedule down to two days a week. She loves emergency medicine, but was never passionate about chronic medicine. Now is impacting lives preventing chronic illness by sharing our nutrition as widely as she can. She is making between $112,00-$165,00 year and has her best friend working right along beside her as they plan their business and their futures three times a week.

 Sara F was laid off from GE years ago and started a closet remodeling/organization business affiliated with the Container Store. Sara is just getting started truly building her business and sees the path forward to a lasting residual income that will give her the income she needs for a great retirement, as well as frequent and fabulous travel around the world!

 Anda was in the banking industry in Arizona for 20 years, but when the economy turned due to the mortgage industry collapse, she found herself not fulfilling family dreams anymore. Instead she was taking them away as businesses collapsed and assets were turned over to the bank. She just couldn’t do it anymore and had to find a different path forward. She was a user of our products to feel better and lose some weight, but her friend who enrolled her NEVER SPOKE TO HER about the wealth creation opportunity that came along with her health transformation. It wasn’t until she got her job with corporate and saw reports on the bonus pools, did she understand the full potential of what business owners were making. Let’s just say that friend got a phone call!

 As for me, I had a successful career with GE for 18 years. I loved most of it and have recovered from the worst of it. The people, the training, the travel, and the experience are things I’m truly grateful for. But things starting changing with my business unit due to a large integration. Cost Synergies were not showing up in the numbers. I saw the writing in the wall and knew it was time for my exit strategy to go into effect. I started my Network Marketing education and my business while I was at GE, all out in the open and with full knowledge of my bosses, team and colleagues, two years before I said goodbye to my office with no windows.  I’m proof it can be done. You just have to make it a priority. 

It will be three years this May that I left GE. Right after I left, I took about a year to work my business on a part time basis and did a lot of internal work on myself. Corporate Leader to Network Marketing business owner is a transformation of thinking and acting, but it’s all on my terms. Several trips all over the world to the Mediterranean to see the Rivera’s, to the West coast to help my step daughter settle into college, to Rome and Barcelona, to the South Pacific and Bora Bora, and no conference rooms in sight! I needed that time to detox my thinking, get centered in who I was now, and start living my purpose.

Having this mastermind session just after my latest rank advancement to Director was a perfect time to reflect on the industry I have joined. Some people still think I’m crazy for leaving GE and my high six figure income. That’s ok. Some people are not my people. I’m building a successful business helping others transform their health, their way of thinking and in some cases their financial blueprint. Support and training opportunities are free and all around me. I’m working with people who are not just coworkers, but friends who will go out of their way to help and lift me up. I do the same for them. I also love that each of us with our unique backgrounds and skills can run our businesses in different ways, yet still be duplicatable and show others “Yes, you can do this too!”

 Don’t put a strangle hold on your financial future. Don’t let others dictate the quality of your life. If there was one overall takeaway from yesterday for me, it’s that you have to be open to new ideas, be brave enough to try them, find your tribe to lift you up, and truly not care what your critics say! If you are not happy, or your day to day life is not going to get you where you need to be, lift up your head and look around. Talk to people who are living the life you want. Change your conversation. For me, my path to living an ideal life was found because of Network Marketing.
