Leza Parker: Change Your Game.

Leza Parker: Change Your Game.

My VC is a wise man, one of the most admirable people I have ever met and I have always felt lucky we are connected in this lifetime, more so in the past year. A lot of things have changed with the business and progression continues to increase. But most importantly, a lot of things have changed about me. I felt the year, 2016 with all the winnings and losses, I have changed as a person. That is what I am most grateful for.

The first thing he told me when I met him is a famous quote that says “Change is the only constance in life.” And that is so true.

Change, as much as we resent and resist it, is inevitable and so necessary. We need the change, to wake our senses. We need the change, so we can do better or be better. We need the change to make us see things we didn’t before, try things we have always wanted to do and adopt skills to learn so we can stay progressive.

If you have been doing the same thing in 2016 and it did not bring you any benefit, give it up. Losing things does not mean you will lose. Sometimes to be successful means you need to give up on some things. Some of these things include complacency, liabilities and difficulties. If success is still not achievable then maybe, some of your plans need to shift, your arrangements need to be altered, your practises need to improve, skills honed and relationships start or end.

If you want a different results, then propose a different game.

Easy as that. You want a different answer, ask a different equation. If you are going to do the same thing, there is no way you get anything different. You get the same answer, move in the same loop and end up lost in the same maze. What’s the difference? – nothing.

Sometimes letting go is an emotional process, because you are stepping out of the comfort zone. You are now away from people you are so used to. Adjusting to changes is a skill, but they also say “The person who can survive is not the one with the most strength or intelligence, but the one who can adapt in any situations.

I am going to do a lot of things different this 2017, because I already know what 2016 results were with what I did. I am desperate for a change, because I am more desperate for a different result. Resetting everything does not mean you start over, it just means you reconfigure the rules and the players. So you can get a better, more so a different, outcome.

It will take a big shift of what I previously thought how things should be done. But, I am willing to take the risk like the many risks I have taken over years to make change happen.

Because only a change can promise a difference.

The thrill of finding that out keeps me highly motivated for what 2017 is going to be. That thrill is what entrepreneurs feed on.
