Be the change, stay active leverage connections!

Hi there my fellow linkedIn members , I've seen many desperate posts where you've gone months , maybe a year and nothing but automated rejections , ghosting etc. For many of you, you feel the only attention your getting is from scammers or advice where its making you feel like you're the one to blame. Your resume needs a re-write, your not posting enough, your posting to much, You need to customize each response to meet or cheat the ATS. Let me just say its NOT YOU!

I've been in IT for 30 years and I've never seen a job market like this. I've always been immediately employable. With no gaps unless I wanted one :)

So I was laid off in March. And I too am struggling to find a new position.

So because of my experience I'm not waiting ! I've started a new company called MedOauth . I won't delve into that hear just click the link if your interested.

And secondly I've started 2 opensource projects which you can see in the image.

One: LinkedIn could be better as a job board. But lets not complain , if we think we can do better prove it! Build a better one! Who knows maybe linkedIn will buy it from us.

Two: Nothing is worse than scammers and bots. One way way to eliminate them is to verify you are talking to a person and then hold that person accountable. So I started another open source project The Human Name System this has many applications. One could be new social media platforms that would only allow human participation. The second is to eliminate providing your SSN. As each person would have their identity cryptographically verified through government IDs or trusted third-party verifiers.

What I'm saying you may be waiting for a while before that next job opportunity. Your smart , your great at what you do. Here is a chance to be part of projects that will keep your skills in the game allow you to build your network. Show future employers what your made of by referencing contributions to these or other open source projects. Or maybe your own creation. Heaven knows the existing ones could use the competition.
