In fact, "Why should I?"
Now, that's the million-dollar question! And, surprisingly, that's the key too!
"Why should I?"
The answer to this question is going to determine whether I would be wanting to get cracking and grind myself towards ensuring the change .....OR not.
Know why? Coz...
Truly speaking, the caterpillar would want to pass through this pain of CHANGE if only it is assured of its future - Transforming into a beautiful butterfly. Now that's something universal! Everybody knows its gonna turn beautiful. But how clear is this vision to the caterpillar? This clarity is going to decide how hard it would try to first build the cocoon and then break open with all its strength..
But hey, given the darkness of ambiguity filled with doubt - in self, in circumstances and in people around us, how is that going to help us move even a step further towards change?
Let's be real...
How many of us seriously take up the change challenge just because we are passionate about it without knowing how the efforts would fuel our goals, ur aspirations?
Managers struggling hard to keep up their team's spirits, motivating them to learn a few new skills, take up more challenging tasks despite the limited resources and a walk a mile more to attain results - may relate to what is the pain point, now.
The key to ensuring that Change, lies in how clearly I see the result relevant to MY aspirations. A clear Visualisation- where I can distinctly see a WHY.... that promises me an inspiring tomorrow, post the Change, and relates directly to my vision- is going to help me persevere.
- That will make me Believe in the Results.
- That will auto motivate me to want to put efforts to give up on the comfort zone and toil for the future.
Trust me, if this is missed, one will always be seen hunting for motivational videos and people to ignite a spark within them that barely lasts.
Know what...
You embraced the new normal along with the plethora of challenges coz you knew, you would be totally screwed otherwise. You could visualize a life worth living only if you accepted this by force or by choice. Nature has taught us the rules of the game. One has to embrace change, for the good, whether one likes it or not. No options. Coz in a way, we were the ones instrumental somewhere, in leading our life to this stage, somehow.
And, as I ponder and look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being redirected to something better.
How about you?
Challenge yourself to find your reason for that change - in habit, in attitude, in approach, that skill.... and so much more. Time to identify it. Acknowledge it and embrace it!
Just begin with your WHY, see how it can help you get what you want and keep working. It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.
Said Tuli Kupferberg, "When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge."
Best wishes. God bless us all.
