Change Only Needs A Small Spark

I have been an advocate for all people my entire life no matter their ethnicity, socio-economic background, sexual orientation, gender, age, or any other lines we tend to draw in the sand. I do not use the word race when describing groups of people because I believe we are one race, the human race. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" in a letter he wrote from jail in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963. I have also been a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) Practitioner for most of my career.
Over the years, I have learned that it only takes a little courage to make significant changes in how we think, transact business, interact with each other, and utilize proper protocols to transform from normal or ordinary people and processes to cutting-edge and innovative ones. A small spark can start with interjecting a thought in a weekly team or one-on-one meeting with a leader or those we lead. Fear is the enemy of progress and change.
I suggest you become a researcher, and look for what's on the horizon by following the news in science, technology, social concerns, and anything else you consider noteworthy. If you have not been exposed to tools such as a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats), I suggest you make yourself familiar with these exercises. Sparking change starts with a solid foundation of knowledge with an actionable perspective.
Let's spark change together!
