"Change" In A Nutshell: 5-in-1 Pack

Easy to say, hard to start, harder to execute; unfortunately, rare to succeed...

It's evident for a long time by the studies of John Kotter, and many other change academicians and authorities that more than 70% of change initiatives fail.

But, Why? Is there any way to increase the likelihood of success?

That's the critical question that attracted too much interest in the business transformation, change and transition field. Not only from academic point of view but also from day-to-day practical business life, this topic exists in "top priority" agendas.

At this point, another set of questions emerge: How to start? What to read? Whom to follow?...

That's where I would like to come in. I just wanted to pile a set of articles of mine dedicated to "change management" in order to provide an introductory and warm-up assistance for you. You can utilize these in your daily change and transformation issues as well as enriching your knowledge pool about the subject.

I asked my grandmother what was the most significant factor to living a long life. She said adapting to change. She lived to 101. I agree. I Businesses that survive must do so through their innovation, processing and management resources. As you pointed out in your other article, communication of such is important. Theories about how organizations change draw on many disciplines, from psychology and behavioral science, through to engineering and systems thinking. The underlying principle is that change does not happen in isolation – it impacts the whole organization (system) around it, and all the people touched by it. Change management is, therefore, a very broad field, and approaches to managing change vary widely, from organization to organization and from project to project. Many organizations and consultants subscribe to formal change management methodologies. These provide toolkits, checklists and outline plans of what needs to be done to manage changes successfully.
