Change cannot be put on people. The best way to instill change is to do it with them. Create it with them. - Lisa Bodell
When the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change, we then embrace the "change."
There is probably no other arena or area that requires leadership as "change." Leaders are people who have clarity and vision to see that today's pain is greater than changing. They see that changing has value, not in the change itself, but the productivity and outcomes change brings. This is the core of leadership and this does not require a leadership title.
Titles are overrated and often looked upon as the change. People are smart. They know the difference between a leader and someone with a leadership title. Hopefully, the two eventually intersect, and provide tremendous value to people and organizations.
There is no reason to wait for the title. You can be a leader today.
What do you see that needs changing in you? Your organization?
What can you change and demonstrate to others?
Be the change. Lead the change.
If you are willing, you may discover the wonderful relief of your pain in the rear view mirror, and you will grow as a leader.
