Do YOU need a Spring Clean?
Question: What is one thing that you would like to change in your life right now, knowing that doing so would move you towards the life you truly want to be living?
This is the question I asked my readers last year and they came back full force with a variety of answers, which I have captured in eleven categories and themes (to follow shortly).
Through this research, what I found is that we feel like we are trapped in a “Cycle of Busy” because of our circumstances, debt and habits. What I really think we have done is slowly turned up the heat in the pot we all live in, fueled by racing technology, non-stop in-the-moment information and instant gratification, and have done so to a pace that is simply not sustainable. It’s as if we are ticking time bombs waiting for the shoe to drop.
We have shaped our lives from the standpoint of “when this, then that, then I will...” I am here to tell you that you don’t have to live your life walking around on eggshells, living how you think others want you to live or waiting for that magical “someday” when you can actually live the life you really want. It’s time to take your life back. Today.
The rest of this article is for the 20% of you who are willing to mix things up - those of you who are open to making that gradual turn out of the “hover-lane.” You’re willing to try a new way of thinking as a test or on a trial basis. You have that “let’s just see what happens” open-minded way of thinking. If nothing else, you can always go back to hovering once you’ve given the calm approach to life a test drive.
Just so we are clear, this is where the proverbial rubber hits the road and some effort is going to be required. But not to worry, YOU CAN handle it.
So, back to the question at hand: What is ONE thing you want to change to move towards what you really want?
Here's the results I collected: Over one thousand people asked in the Busy Audit, top eleven answers on the board:

Which of these themes hits home for you?
The good news is that taking the leap toward the life you really want isn’t that hard once you make the decision to do so. We’ve already taken care of facing our fears and taming those overburdening thoughts in our minds, so we’re well on our way. Now it’s about gaining a real clear picture of where you want to be and taking the steps to get there.
In the most basic sense, what this research has told me is that the only?way we will find clarity in our lives is if we reduce or eliminate the clutter. And so, in my book “Breaking Busy” ?you will have the opportunity to find your clarity while reducing your clutter, through each of the above top eleven themes that lead the charge for change, according to the survey results. So roll up your sleeves and let’s get started.
Clearing the Clutter and Gain Clarity
Note to self:?in the next research project I conducted,?I asked my readers to tell me what’s holding them back from acting from making a few of these changes.?
#1 Answer:?The fear of not knowing how it will turn out and will I be able to handle it.
I’ll let you in on a secrete;?You will handle it.?You always have and you always will.
