Change is Hard at First, can get Messy in the Middle, but Worth it in the End, Roo Resumes

I think the best way to create a future right for yourself is to create it. Change in the workplace when you start a new role can be somewhat challenging to start with. You are doing your level best to create a lasting first impression, taking the time to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders whilst learning new processes, systems and procedures at the same time. I know myself having started roles that are completely off what I am used to doing that change is hard to begin with. Change can and will definitely get messy in the middle but believe it or not, you will look back at challenges thrown your way and understand and appreciate that change is so worth it in the end.

Remember a year from now, you may wish you had started today. Most opportunities do not knock at ones door. You have to go after it and embrace what change it might bring you. Remember it is OK to "begin somewhere"... A few Months ago, I walked into a building which created a new community for me. Something I desperately needed having spent a few Months unwell in hospital. I could not talk. I was lost and I had lost my voice. I was in no position to work (and still am not) and I felt scared and frightened of the change this place could or could not provide for me.

The community of people within this building welcomed me and embraced all I did not have to offer. After all, I could not communicate properly and felt scared no-one would accept me with such a disability having had no speech or language issues my whole life. The reason I am sharing this with my network is that by walking into this new community over a short period of time I was able to build friendships, make new friends and above all, help other people too. I look back now and see that by becoming poorly, I needed to embraced change, no matter how messy it looked from the outside and how messy it felt in the middle, I persevered. Remember above all to keep going because you did not come this far to simply only come this far. Let today be the start of something brilliant and new and look at change as a positive thing in your life. Don't ever give up on your dreams. Over the last decade I have concentrated on helping others. Enabling professionals to find suitable employment and to progress in their chosen careers. I have also worked in domestic violence and supported challenging teenagers with a wide range of difficulties. I have chosen to embrace change and to challenge my thoughts every day. To learn, to grow and to offer support. What have I learned over the last 6 Months. It is OK to say you know what, I am not OK? I need some help and support and I need to work on myself to get better. I have come so far, as I have helped others to do well and go far in their worlds too. I am proud of what I have achieved and look forward to what lies ahead. Suddenly I have learned you just simply know that it is time to start something new and trust in the magic of new beginnings. For everyone who has helped and supported me on this difficult journey, thank you, I am so very blessed and will always be so very grateful. I have found my voice again and am looking forward to whatever this next chapter brings me.
