Change Is Good

Have you heard the famous quote by Henry Ford,

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten”.

This quote resonates with me on so many levels as I believe in embracing change. The only way to truly the grow personally or professionally is by stepping out, challenging status quo and changing things up. Sometimes change is out of your control and sometimes you have to pull the trigger. For those that want to live life to the fullest I encourage you to start with small daily changes until it feel natural. This may be as simple as making a commitment to networking and building your circle of influence, speaking in public, learning something new, delegating responsibility, or leading a healthier life. Whatever it is….. just commit to making the first step!

I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with hundreds of entrepreneurs and business women. Many of whom struggle to embrace change. In fact  most these women are rock stars in their industry and have a ton of confidence until change knocks us on our ass in the form of a job loss, economy, divorce, increased responsibility caring for an aging family member, or other business stresses. These outside influences can  definitely take a run at our confidence and challenge how we do business.

Either way the only thing for certain is that YOU are in control of what happens next. Learn to make change the constant. I’m here to remind you that you have all the tools in your tool box, you just have to dust it off, find the right tools and support networks and go to work.

Here are a few changes that we have embraced to grow The Nest:

1) CONNECT – Communication is key! We have a new look for our newsletter and will be communicating with you on a weekly basis. We have increased our frequency and offer more value. When you see Canadian Business Chicks in your INBOX we want you to get excited! We invite you to join us for our weekly BLAB on Tuesday’s at 9 am MST and register for our upcoming Live Webinars featuring upcoming speakers or Educational Webinars with industry experts.

2) GROW  – We are excited to grow our community in Alberta and beyond to share knowledge, expand our network, and provide a platform for professional and entrepreneurial women with a passion for business. Our program is simple, offer an opportunity for face- to face networking opportunities, speaking platform for members to share their story with a 15 minute feature and bring in exceptional keynote speakers to educate, inspire and motivate. 3) PROFIT – We have recently incorporated the word PROFIT into our mission statement. Canadian Business Chicks’s is Canada’s community for women with a passion for BUSINESS and PROFIT who embrace life with courage, confidence, commitment and integrity. Thank  you to my strategy mentor Karen Stewart of Fairway Divorcee Solutions for challenging me on the “why” we do what we do? Why do women want to be a member of Canadian Business Chicks? To make money! The Nest offers opportunity to network, build your circle of influence, be visible, speak and  make valuable connections to increase business and PROFIT!
