Have the courage to choose who you'll be today, regardless of who you were yesterday
How are you spending your extra time in quarantine? Like many others, I've found this to be a powerful moment to slow down and reflect. Some important questions I've asked myself this week:
- Am I living my own definition of success, or someone else's?
- What are the things (and people) that bring me the most joy? Do I create enough room for them in my life?
- Are there things that I'm still doing that are not serving my greater purpose? If so, how do I stop those things?
- Do I even know what my greater purpose is?
- What limiting beliefs or behaviors are preventing me from living my most powerful and authentic life?
I encourage you to take this opportunity to ask yourself these admittedly hard, but very important questions so you can emerge from this period stronger than ever. To support you, our team has put together The GLOW Self-Love Challenge, a 21-day audio course to learn to let go of limiting beliefs & perfectionism once and for all to manifest the life you deserve.
When You Harness Self-Love You Learn:
- How to say "No" and set strong boundaries
- How to be unaffected by other people’s behavior, rejection, and opinion
- How to ask for and get what you want in any situation
- How to get rid of self-doubt, self-shame, and self-sabotage
- How to build confidence to advocate for yourself
Self-Love is especially crucial for the Type-A, overachieving, ambitious women who “never have time for self-care.” Join the Self-Love Challenge. For a limited time take 50% off with code HERLOVE

Last week on The Global League of Women Podcast, I spoke with Monique Woodard, an angel investor based in San Francisco. She is focused on investing at the intersection of technology and newly powerful consumer groups as a result of demographic shifts - Women, people of color, and the elderly. She recently published a 65-page report called Gray New World, detailing this demographic sea change and the types of opportunities she sees as an investor.
As a serial entrepreneur and rising VC, she shares how she overcomes the challenges of raising outside capital, especially as a minority woman.
In This Episode, You Will Learn:
- The importance of having the right friends in your life, regardless of professional success
- How to think about career transitions and starting your entrepreneurial journey
- The three big demographic shifts that Monique is actively investing into
- Communication and relationship best practices

“You don’t have a lot of time to tolerate shit, you know? You put so much on your plate. When you’re overwhelmed, you need to start cutting things out. And I’m overwhelmed too much. What’s happening now is that I’m going back to black and white. My grey area is shutting down.”

Women We Admire
- Dr. Theresa Tam, Dr. Heather Morrison, and five other women who represent 7 of Canada’s 14 national or provincial chief medical officers. Given their leadership, they have had their faces emblazoned on t-shirts, their portraits grace street murals, and their press conferences have inspired YouTube performances. This is an exciting and important trend, compared to previously only 12% of Canada’s deans of medicine were women compiled for 2018-19.
- Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj for her article in Forbes titled, “The Voice Of Women Leaders Is Critical Today More Than Ever”. She discussed the The Reykjavik Index, which measures the level of comfort in society towards women in leadership positions.
- Geeta Rao Gupta for co-authoring an article for the World Economic Forum detailing that 70% of the world's healthcare staff are made up of women, but only 25% of global leaders are female. She stressed that “leaders dictate where funding and research goes, from vaccine development to social safety nets. Without women in these positions, subsequent decisions will not adequately address the hurdles women face.”

4 年Agreed! These are all powerful questions that I’ve been asking myself as well. I feel incredibly grateful to be able to have the space and capacity to ask them at such a challenging time in the world. I believe for many people, asking these questions now, would feel incredibly overwhelming, so just remember that they will still be here for you where you’re ready.
