More and more people are reporting that managing their personal and professional lives has become more difficult. Longer working hours, more pressure to get things done quickly, more pressure to succeed and less personal time. Added together this combination of things creates more stress and plenty of daily struggles.?“Working for long periods without leaving your desk, checking emails when you should be present with family or friends, working weekends and eating lunch and/or dinner at your desk are all signs that you don’t have a good work-life balance.” It is the question mark against your time management.
- Limit time-wasting activities and people: This list will differ for everyone, so make sure it truly reflects your priorities, not someone else’s. Next, draw firm boundaries so you can devote quality time to these high-priority people and activities. Establish rules to keep you on task. Politely excuse yourself from chatter patter talks with less constructive people.
- Learn to say NO: Be bold enough for the things when you are clear on who matters most and what matters most, you gain clarity on what and who is essential and who isn’t. When you start saying no to most things, you will become more focused and be completely present in everything you’ve said yes to. You may postpone by saying get back you or may be later. Of course, it’s important to be polite, but being nice by saying yes all the time only hurts you.
- Setting priority list : Prepare to do list with below sequential method with four categories: 1. Urgent & Important 2. Important but not urgent 3. Urgent but not important 4. Neither urgent nor important. Create time line to accomplishment.
- Take time to make time: If you looked back at the last week, how much time did you spend just having fun? If it wasn’t much, then it’s time to change things up. If you need to get out of your comfort zone to have more fun, just do it. However, you want to change your life, having more fun keeps you energized and motivated and you can again come back with fresh mind and full energy.
