A chance to re-set
I've always thought of Victoria Day, Labour Day, and New Year's as invisible "breaks" in the year - chances to re-set. Probably something to do with seasons, or the school year, or our deeply ingrained calendar... whatever the reason, I savour that opportunity for a fresh start.
There's nothing like a year of global pandemic to make us all feel like a re-set is desperately needed. This past Friday, I was fortunate enough to host an amazing conversation with John Furlong - one of the most inspirational leaders I've ever come across. John took the time to address, and then answer questions from, staff from the Club community across Canada as part of our "Ask Me Anything" series (www.ohboy.ca/tcc). He shared insights about what it might take to get us all going again as Canada and the world start to re-open; and how to make a fresh start no matter where you were at pre-pandemic.
The last 15 months has been anything but business as usual, but hopefully we will start to see some normality in the months ahead. Finding our way out of this pandemic and hitting the re-set button is not solely a government responsibility. We will all have a role to play, and John's ideas on how to turn the page could be the inspiration you need to make your own way forward.
I'm honoured to be able to share this session, expertly produced by Oh Boy Productions, and I encourage you to watch it and consider sharing it with your staff or colleagues. Although John was speaking to the Club community this time, his perspective and ideas are applicable to just about everyone.
