A Chance to Make the Future!

“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” -Zen Shin

That’s how I started my motivational speech on the first day of Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2019 competition, quoting Zen Shin. Each and every team member gave his best till the last moment, they have put in the effort, sacrificed their time, coped with the stress; balancing study, this project, and some even had part-time jobs!

Such a team is the best thing a leader can ever ask for, they were the best I had, they gave me my value.

It was our first time to build a vehicle from scratch, started from an idea to sketches to 3D models, simulations, all the way to fabricating it fully from carbon fiber. Great considerations were made to safety, aerodynamics, economy, and innovative use of technology.

Despite it being our first time to participate in this event and competing against world-leading universities, we were the third team from Asia and the first Arabic team to successfully pass all the safety and technical tests by Shell and their technical partner Ferrari.

Big projects always see the light with the collaboration of many efforts. The support we received is an embodiment of youth support and following the example of our late father, H.M Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may Almighty Allah dwell him in Jannatul Firdaus.
