Championing Education Together: Inside our employee-led Fundraiser

There’s something extraordinary about people uniting for a shared purpose, and we’ve seen this time and again at eVidyaloka. This year, we chose to harness that collective energy by empowering each of us to be advocates for education across India. Creating a space for creativity, collaboration, and friendly competition is powerful. This was the essence of Champions for Change, our two-week employee fundraising campaign at eVidyaloka, launched in celebration of #GivingTuesdayIndia.

More than a fundraiser, Champions for Change was an opportunity to connect with new supporters, raise awareness, and advocate for digital education in rural India. Our goal, to provide quality education to 200 rural students in just 14 days and expand our mission’s reach. Through this initiative, we not only moved our cause forward but also built stronger bonds within our team and a deeper commitment to our mission.

Shared purpose behind the Campaign: Educate and Inspire

The campaign was more than about hitting a financial target. Although we aimed to raise INR 7,30,000—the cost of educating 200 students at INR 3,650 per student—we also wanted to inspire others to understand and support eVidyaloka’s work.


Every team member became an ambassador, sharing our vision of bridging the educational divide in India through their networks. Our stories, the conversations we sparked, and the encouragement we received were invaluable in helping us reach new donors and expand our impact.

Partnering with Giving Tuesday India and GivingTuesday added an important layer of significance to the campaign. We chose Giving Tuesday not only for its global visibility but also because its values of unity and collective action align closely with eVidyaloka’s mission of empowering communities through education.

A Unique Team Experience

To kickstart the campaign on a high note, we hosted a team quiz to boost morale and ignite some friendly competition. Thirteen teams formed, each united by a shared purpose of making a real difference. Throughout the campaign, milestone-based prizes recognized team efforts and celebrated creativity and determination.

Our teams gave it their all. Motivated by the friendly competition and supported by a social media toolkit that helped them craft impactful messages. This allowed them to share eVidyaloka’s mission across their networks, drawing more attention to our cause and helping us reach a broader audience.

Results and Reflections: Learning from the Journey

The dedication and enthusiasm our team demonstrated were nothing short of inspiring. By reaching out to friends, family, and colleagues, employees brought in new supporters, helping us achieve a significant portion of our fundraising target. Beyond the numbers, Champions for Change showed us the power of employee-led fundraising and created an enduring commitment to our mission.

How this campaign will help our mission

At eVidyaloka, we believe every child should have access to quality education, regardless of their location. Operating across 17 states in India and serving over 734 schools, our not-for-profit organization provides virtual classrooms to connect volunteer teachers with students in remote rural communities. We aim to empower children to shape their futures through knowledge, inspiring them to dream bigger and strive for a brighter tomorrow.

Moving Forward Together

Reflecting on Champions for Change, we are reminded that every effort, every supporter, matters. Each step brings us closer to delivering quality education for rural students in India, and we are deeply grateful to our team and to everyone who contributed.
