Almost all entrepreneurs and business owners are told: you will come across challenges that you will have to overcome. They are told not to give up and do whatever they need to keep on moving forward.?
I talk about it with such certainty because this is exactly what I was told and taught when I was a young manager and then entrepreneur.?
Today, when SupportYourApp is a couple of weeks away from turning 13, I look back and think, are there challenges that are not worth overcoming? Should business owners tackle everything they encounter in their careers, or should some things be left untouched??
The most common challenges in the business world
Overcoming these is practically a daily task for managers and business owners. But there are some uncommon challenges leaders may face. Among them:?
Time constraints
A lot of young executives give themselves a limited amount of time to achieve success. At the beginning of my tenure as a CEO and Managing Partner, I was almost one of them. For months, I thought, “Just one more month, and we’re off the market”. This continued until we started gaining new clients and launched on Product Hunt . After that, we finally started growing.?
Had I listened to myself and abided by my own time limits, we would not have been able to grow and turn into the international company we are today.?
Fierce competition
As I already said, the market is filled with ideas and offers. Small startups, that need time and room to grow, often have neither.
There are also examples of big companies squeezing new competition out of the market, as their presence would mean the need to develop and innovate — something not all businesses are willing to do.?
Fighting to stay afloat may not seem worth it, especially for businesses that operate in developed industries.?

Extremely limited resources
Time, talented specialists, good ideas, and funding — these are four crucial elements for growth. If at least one of these is lacking, a startup is unlikely to get off the ground.?
Although, for small businesses, operating with limited resources is a mundane thing, it is also challenging and tough. A lot of managers simply give up, because they do not see how they can grow in such conditions. They are lost because they do not know how to overcome this roadblock.
At this stage, some business owners lose their sense of direction and purpose and simply give up.?
Lack of dedication
Even despite every challenge I encountered along the way, I didn’t give up. Why? Because I am dedicated to my team, our vision, and our purpose. Sadly, this is not the case for a lot of businesses. When a team is not committed to their common goal, they simply lack motivation and can rust out quickly.?
A manager needs to put a lot of effort into making sure their team is dedicated and motivated at all times. Why is this considered a challenge? Because young business owners have a lot on their plate, and paying attention to the level of their team’s dedication may be lost in the sea of other priorities.?
Delegating is the best way to overcome this challenge and make sure every little detail is covered and paid attention to.?
Are all these worth overcoming??
My answer is a resounding yes.?
First, only a handful of things are better than resolving an issue that seems unsolvable and reaping the fruit of one’s hard work.?
Second, the more challenges we overcome, the better we become, and the more we have to teach others, which makes us better leaders.?
Are there challenges not worth overcoming? No, there are not. Every roadblock we encounter has its own solution. As leaders, our task is to look at and assess the situation, find the answer, and use it to grow our businesses and teams.?
