Tourism is a sector that can help a region's overall growth by contributing to its social, economic, cultural, and educational factors. Tourism benefits women by providing direct or indirect business opportunities without affecting the horticultural workforce negatively. By establishing a women's entrepreneurial system, tourism provides?work opportunities for women?unable to leave their communities. Because tourism contributes significantly to economic development, it opens up a wide range of business development opportunities for women. As a result of tourism development efforts, women's employment opportunities have increased.
To be sustainable, the tourism industry must ensure that women are represented equally in the development process. However, several barriers to women's advancement still?exist.?Among the challenges are the following:
1. One of the most significant barriers to women's empowerment is illiteracy. Many women do not complete the necessary schooling to obtain jobs because they must care for their families or are married.
2. Gender stereotypes persist in developing countries, where women are considered unsuitable for a variety of occupations.
3. Pay disparities are a common occurrence in which women are paid less than men for the same job or task completed. This is a significant impediment to development.
4. One of the major issues affecting women's performance in the tourism industry is a lack of support from male coworkers.
5. Women should not interact with visitors or strangers.?This, for example, is typical of traditional and orthodox thinking. Such myths will be difficult to eliminate for policymakers.
WHAT STRATEGIES SHOULD BE DEVELOPED TO AVOID THESE DIFFICULTIES FOR WOMEN TOURISM ENTREPRENEURS??
Many structural changes are required to ensure equal participation of women in the tourism sector. Some of the potential factors are as follows:

7. Take the necessary steps to break through the glass ceiling.
8. Extending maternity leave could be a great place to start in encouraging women to be more active in the workplace.
9. A gender-based auditing system can assist women in the tourism industry in understanding and demonstrating their value to their employers.
10. Women's empowerment through information technology and improved communication methods.?
