Challenges and Triumphs: The Journey of Landing our Gasification Facility Dryers from Germany to Brisbane

With the third dryer on it's way, let's rewind and revisit the journey of landing our initial dryers for the Gasification facility.

In May 2021, the dryers commenced their trek from ELIQUO 's manufacturing hub in the Black Forest, Germany, to their destination in Brisbane, Australia.

Ordinarily, these dryers would be shipped in parts, accompanied by engineers for on-site assembly. However, the onset of Covid-19 and associated travel restrictions posed a unique challenge, rendering the usual process unfeasible.

A decision was made to ship the dryers as complete pieces, offering a workaround to kickstart the process. This, however, brought its own set of challenges.?

Each dryer, approximately 18 meters in length and weighing a hefty 34 tons, had to be navigated through the narrow streets of Black Forest.

Following a nerve-racking road journey, the dryers safely arrived in the Netherlands, where they were meticulously packed for sea freight, commencing a three-month voyage.

The journey culminated in the arrival of the dryers at the Brisbane port in August 2021. Despite the challenges of delivery and setup, there was a silver lining to this unique situation.

Covid-19 and its associated restrictions necessitated an intensive digital collaboration, replacing the traditional physical presence. This not only broadened our horizons for digital capabilities but also made a significant positive impact on reducing CO2 emissions by minimising international travel.
