Challenges, Goals and Moving Forward
Now that the Christmas break has finished, I have spent time reflecting on the last year; what I enjoyed and what I could have done better. I stretched myself too thin last year by setting myself so many challenges that I didn’t know whether I was coming or going most of the time. I completed them all and am proud of those achievements but this year needs to be more focused and more enjoyable. So my aims for 2020 are:
- To read the top 10 books on the New York Times Book Review. Once I have finished them I will then start a new list so any suggestions gratefully received.
- To get myself out and about more at work. This last year particularly, has seen me focusing far too much on day to day work and not getting out and meeting clients and prospects enough. We have a fantastic team who are all extremely capable and it is time to release some of my control, give them more ownership and let them shine. This is the first time really in the history of the business that I feel very comfortable saying that so I know we are in a great place.
- To make sure I give my all to whatever I am doing at each moment. If I am home, be at home. If I am at work, be at work. Basically try not to be everything to everybody all of the time.
We have some great plans for 2020, with new clients on the horizon and new team members joining in the coming months. I am looking forward to a year of excitement with new projects to launch, an ever expanding team of great people and some fantastic clients both new and old who will challenge us to keep improving.
