Yet, monetization models across platforms often remain fragmented, with in-game purchases and subscriptions often locked to specific devices. Standardizing monetization across platforms could alleviate this issue, allowing purchases made on one platform to carry over to others.
Cheating and Security: Safeguarding the Integrity of Cross-Platform Play
The introduction of cross-platform play also exposes the gaming ecosystem to a new set of security risks, particularly around cheating. Since players on different platforms use different systems and security measures, detecting and preventing cheating becomes more challenging. To address this, developers must invest in robust, platform-agnostic anti-cheat systems capable of identifying cheats across all devices.
