In modern times a leader must be an entrepreneur and lead innovation and change in the organization. Also, a leader must practice less directing and more supportive behavior. One of the defining qualities of a leader is to listen to people with attention. From the time we were students working in a group on a University assignment or while playing football, we experienced teamwork. It has been observed that individuals exhibit different behaviors in a team as compared to working alone.

Those individuals who perform well are promoted based on their individual performance. However, leading a team of five people is not the same as displaying individual performance. New team leaders often fall into the trap of trying to achieve their team’s objective single-headedly, recognizing the greater experiment but seeking to meet it by working quicker and harder as opposed to differently. Frequently, they try to make the team clones of themselves, endeavoring to ensure that every member performs exactly as the leader would.?
The role of the team captain is to bring victory to the team, the team leader realizes the purpose and plans what he has to do to bring back the victory and win the trophy. He has a squad of 15 players and must utilize each one of them in the best way to bring out peak performance in the team and bring the cup. In order to do this, he must motivate the team so that they are not selfish for individual gains but looking for success as a team.?
