Or is it more like conjecture taken as a matter of fact…
That belief, opinion, or understanding we view as fact because it is ‘generally accepted’ to be so.?
BUT… just because it is generally accepted does not make it a fact.?
An interesting thought pattern that emerged while I was listening to the 1958 book, The Affluent Society by economist John Kenneth Galbraith who is credited with coining the phrase - conventional wisdom.?
How often do I simply accept conventional wisdom as ‘gospel truth’?
How often do I make judgments about a situation or experience based on conventional wisdom?
What innovative thinking is stifled by succumbing to conventional wisdom?
Where has conventional wisdom (thinking) resulted in a limiting belief?
Points to ponder… ???

1 年I agree on this one. Conventional wisdom can be a useful guide, but it's important to remember to keep a critical eye and evaluate it based on the evidence. It's quite challenging to not follow the norms but is definitely rewarding to prove them what's right. Right, Colleen?
