Chairmans Blog - Week of celebrations
Rossington Main FC
Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League Football Club in the Northern Counties East League Premier at Non-League step 5.
Well after last weeks promotion and a week off work the celebrations continued this weekend with our club sponsor Eco-Power Construction Group giving us their hospitality box at Doncaster Racecourse for our presentation evening in what was a great day out and a final celebration before we embark on next seasons planning.
The Developement team’s Doncaster Rovers Saturday League winning run came to an end on thursday evening away to Bentley FC losing 3-1 which now puts the title charge now out of our hands as we now need to win the remaining 2 and hope others around us lose but we regroup and go again.
Sunday saw our ladies team run out 7-0 winners at home in a game that was more competative than the score line shows but our ladies fitness and home advantage was the difference from 60mins onwards.
Away from the field Monday saw me catch up with with the Gaffer after the aftermath of promotion and it was straight down to business as we discussed what was required to keep us strong for next season and what his thoughts were after his 3 year commitment to the club had come to an end and ended with what he had promissed on becoming manager promotion and entry into the FA Cup within 3 years.
Tuesday again I had a chat with the gaffer as we looked to sort the presentation evening for the team for saturday at Doncaster races. Numbers where finally agreed thursday and I was also delighted that Ben our gaffer had commited to being at the helm for our first season in the northern counties prem.

Thursday I met with education stakeholders and a community charity organisation to look at utilising our stadium venue for educational sessions and homework clubs and am delighted that we agreed to a pilot starting on tuesday of next week but something if successful will support revenue generation for our club.
Friday I met with a club volunteer over a coffee at the club to bounce some ideas off as he was down cleaning the facilities in preparation for the start of the homework clubs and for the weekends ladies game on Sunday.
Saturday was the first teams presentation evening at the races in what was a great day and evening. Ross Hannah won top goalscorer + supporters player of season. Greg Young won players player and Jamie Green won managers player of the season.
Sunday saw me go watch the ladies game and check in on how a couple of the new club volunteers were getting on, who were down supporting as many of the main team was off following the previous nights presentation evening and being honest they had all done a super job and I was very happy but I know because of the culture we create that we will always attract talent and people who genuinely care about the football club.
This week will see me finalise next seasons budgets and have meetings with club officials. I will attend the developments game on Tuesday at home and also make plans for a memorial game we are hosting on Saturday.
