Chairman's Blog - Playoffs it is then!
Rossington Main FC
Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League Football Club in the Northern Counties East League Premier at Non-League step 5.
This week saw the first team away to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic FC in a game that finished 1-1 and pretty much ended any small hopes anyone had of wining the league and was a point rescued by our returning star man Ross Hannah with his 30th goal of the season.
The development team got another priceless victory as Thomas Harte’s side now made it nine consecutive wins in all competitions with a 4-0 home win against Epworth Colts Blues.
Off the field this week I held my usual meetings with club officials catching up with the Vice Chairman, Club Secretary the managers and our Director of Football over the course of the week.
Monday I had to attend the ground during my lunch hour from work to inspect the changing room damage caused by the away side following hosting an U18's game last Sunday in a game that Rossington Main U18's won 4-1 but a result soured by the damage the away team caused.
Tuesday saw me sanction the money to repair the changing room damage and our team of volunteers got on with organising and purchasing the materials for the repairs to which they have done a fantastic job.

Wednesday saw a player approach for one of our promising young centre backs from another local club in our league and after both club managers had spoken and our mananger had spoke to the player we agreed to the approach and the player has now left in a move that will see him get game time for the remainder of the season and he leaves with our best wishes.
Thursday I finally agreed a deal with the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA for the hire of our facilities at Rossington Main to host the Saturday Junior Cup and Association Challenge Cup's and is a deal that will be very financially benifical to the club and will support getting some money into the bank at the season end.
Friday I had a chat with the First Teams Assistant Manager to organise logistics and the kit and equipement logistics for Saturdays game.
Saturday was game day so was down early at the club to first support game day preparations for the devlopment teams home game before heading over to Worsbrough Bridge at mid day for the game and I returned back to our clubhouse after the game to catchup with the devlopment teams manager and congratulate him on the teams recent form and watch the finally stages of the Chelsea vs Everton game on the big screens before cashing up the days takings around 9pm a job that fell to me this week as the clubs treasurer was away this week.
This week will see me head over to Shirebrook for a mid week away game and then the rest of the week will be focussed around a huge game next Saturday at home to Harrogate.
