Rossington Main FC
Doncaster’s highest ranked Non-League Football Club in the Northern Counties East League Premier at Non-League step 5.
This week saw the first team make the trip over to Bradford to face the league leaders Campion A.F.C in a game that we somehow lost 1-0 after being the better team for the majority of the game.
This result now leaves the title dream just a dream and we move forward and now concentrate on securing a playoff position and hopfully a second or third finish so we get a home draw.
Our devlopment side made another big step towards their chase to retain the Doncaster Rovers Saturday League title wining 4-0 at home against Brodsworth Main FC.
There was no game for our ladies this week but was great to see some new recruits in training this week that will only make this team stronger going forward.
Off the field saw me this week meet with the clubs Secretary and the Vice Chairman on Monday over a coffee to disscuss the weeks activities and pay some of the clubs bills.
Tuesday evening I was on a scouting mission with the first teams Assistant Manager and our Head of Media Operations which turned out to be a good night and its always good to get out and watch other games.
Wednesday I was in conversations with the FA in London regards gaining intrenational clearance for a player which turned out to be a successful call and we have our man.
Wednesday also saw me attend first team training for a quick catchup with our Director of Football and our First Team Manager we discussed squad, injuries and the weekends game.
Friday saw a planned late afternoon meeting wth one of the clubs long serving commitiee members canceled but I took the opportunity to catchup with the Ladies Manager to plan in some friendly fixtures for the remainder of this season and also discuss away kit options following confirmation of a local business man willing to sponsor their new away kit for next season.
This week will see me have my usual meetings with club officials and it will also be good to be back at home this week with the first team on Saturday.
I also plan to start working on next seasons preparations on a few evenings this week after work so we can hit the ground running and in addition I will need to chase the football foundation in regards to our proposed new spectator toilet facilities funding we have put in for.
