Chairman's Blog - Could of been worse

This week saw the first team make the short trip over to the Swall-siro to play Swallownest FC.

The game ended 2-2 in what was a poor game, played on a really tough surface and to be fair Swallownest were unlucky not to take all 3 points had it not been for a late injury time equaliser from our club captain in a game that was typical of the new manager bounce clubs get with any change of manager and that was clearly evident for Swallownest in this game.

The Develeopment side had a great 6-1 home win on Saturday against Bessacarr FC.

Off the field not much to report this week due to extensive travel with work but I still managed to catchup with Vice Chairman and club secretary on Friday where we paid some of the club bills and ordered the girls team some new training equipment following a recent successful grant application.

Saturday morning I caught up for a general chat with the clubs Director of Football and also the clubs groundmen where we discussed a potential FA club grant funding application for two new junior pitches and a general training area to make use of some unsued land within our stadium boundary and support the juniors with improved playing surfaces.

This week Monday will see me attend the quarterly FA clubs meeting which this time is also being held at our ground on Oxford Street where solor energy solutions and the Premier league stadium funding applications will be on the agenda.

Tuesday evening will see me attend and watch the juniors training session with my son, and then from Wednesday we will be preparing for a big weekend and the local derby as the first team will be at home to our local rivals Armthorpe and then Sunday our ladies are playing their rearranged fixture from last week again at home against Airmyn FC.
