Chained to your desk?
A large number of you have office-based jobs and a significant number also have neck and shoulder pain related to spending a lot of time sat down. When I ask people if they take regular breaks from their desk the answer is generally?'No' so it's no wonder work can make you SAD.?
A recent study of UK office workers found that 40% spend a maximum of just 15 minutes outside during their working day!
This is less than someone in prison who?according to UN guidelines should have "at least 1 hour of exercises in the open air daily".
Don't be a prisoner to your work or stay chained to your desk. Ideally, you should take a break from sitting at least every 45 - 60 mins.
The more you move the better and there are some really simple things you can do to be more active at work including:
?- Going to speak?to a colleague instead of emailing them.
?- Take a walk at lunchtime rather than eating at your desk.
?- Stand up, or better still, walk around the office while making a call.
The benefits to your health will far outweigh the strange looks you might get from your colleagues.

2 年Good advice Bob! An additional challenge nowadays with working from home, is that we don't have the distractions and interruptions that make us change posture, move or get up to speak to someone.
