CGS: Navigating Scrubber Transport from Batam to China via Singapore
WCA Projects
WCA Projects is an alliance comprising many of the world’s most experienced independent project forwarders
Transporting a scrubber and its accessories from Batam to?China via Singapore presented a series of logistical hurdles. With a height of 5.2 meters, loading onto the mother vessel posed a challenge, compounded by road limitations in Singapore. This necessitated a switch to an inducement to barge from Batam to Pasir Panjang container terminal.?
However, initial attempts at loading from a private jetty in Batam were stymied by a lack of custom permissions. Within a tight 24-hour window, the scrubber had to be trucked to the government port at Batu Ampar, requiring last-minute sourcing of 0.8m Super Low bed Trailer. After meticulous road surveys to ensure clearance, the scrubber's base was temporarily removed and later reattached to meet height restrictions in Batam. Special permits were secured for loading onto a 120-foot barge bound for the Singapore container terminal to connect on Mother vessel to China.
Despite these challenges, coordinated efforts ensured seamless connection onto the Container vessel to load as breakbulk, maintaining cargo integrity. In-house expertise in stevedoring, lashing, and unlashing, alongside reliable tug and barge services, ensured successful execution of operations.?
CGS is offering Daily comprehensive tug and barge services, covering routes spanning Singapore, Indonesia, East Malaysia, and Karimun Island along with our own Rolling Haulage Inventory as attached here in.
