Vincent Tam, ACMA, CGMA, is chief advisor at Relearn Education. In this role, he supports the next generation of finance professionals. Relearn Education is an EdTech company that creates customized immersive experiences designed for the specific needs of education, corporate training, and rehabilitation therapy across various industries. Before Tam stepped into the exciting and challenging role as chief advisor, he worked in corporate banking, real estate and HR.

I’ve had an incredible journey and an enrichening experience, studying management accounting and earning the globally recognised CIMA membership and CGMA designation. The credentials have supported me immensely in my career advancement and personal development.

Achieving the designation and growing in a 28-year career has afforded me progressively responsible roles in executive management positions, I have honed my skills in formulating and executing business strategies, fostering innovation, and building high-performing teams. With a strong foundation in management accounting, I feel confident in analyzing financial data, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing effective solutions to drive business growth.

Through knowledge sharing with fellow subject matter experts, networking events, like AICPA & CIMA conferences, and professional development resources such as webinars, I keep myself updated and relevant.

Beyond career advancement, attaining the CGMA designation has had a positive influence on my career. I have learned to approach challenges with a strategic mindset, considering both financial and non-financial aspects of business operations. Cultivating critical skills has not only benefited me professionally but also has enhanced my ability to make better-informed decisions in my personal life.
