CGL Law Demystified!
The CGL policy is arguably the most successful standard-form insurance policy in history, used by virtually every North American business. "Yet its provisions and coverages remain a mystery to most lawyers." CGL Policy Handbook, Third Ed., Introduction.
Central to the structure of the CGL policy is its division into three distinct sections: Coverages A, B and C. Coverage A is for accidental bodily injury and property damage claims. Coverage B is for specific personal and advertising injury claims. Coverage C is for business-related first-party medical expenses. Fortunately, all three will be examined in the coming weeks in the CGL Coverage Disputes Group, based upon the legal framework in our CGL Policy Handbook, published by Wolters Kluwer!
