ESMA seeks input on MiCA Provisions, including restrictions on non-EU crypto firms
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published two consultation papers seeking input on proposed MiCA provisions. One provision would allow crypto companies based outside the EU to only directly serve customers within the bloc under very limited conditions to avoid unfair competition. The other provision surrounds the establishment of clear conditions and criteria for the qualification of crypto assets as financial instruments. ESMA is accepting comments until April 29.
