Beginning in 2017 for 4th-5th grade.
Expanding to middle and high school in 2018.
Catalina Foothills School District is already a leader in visual and performing arts education. Now we're adding a strings program!
Beginning this August: the elementary strings program.
- Offered at all CFSD elementary schools.
- Students meet twice a week, both in small and larger groups.
- Classes held before and after school, and during Early Release.
- Includes both upper strings (violins, violas) & lower strings (cellos, basses).
Coming in 2018: the middle school program and the high school program.
Middle School
Beginning in the 2018 school year, we will offer a separate 6th grade strings class and a multi-level skilled class (grades 6-8) at both Orange Grove and Esperero Canyon.
High School
Beginning in the 2018 school year, we will have a multi-level small chamber orchestra class for Catalina Foothills High School students who have been taking private lessons. Skill required.
