?This is how I can summarise everything you need about personal finances. It is simple and elegant but most people would not do it. And this one quote captures all I’ve learned from writing this blog over the last two years.
I can also say that I have noticed that most people want to “run before they can crawl,” but that is a topic for another day.
Now I want to say: Thank you!
I still can't believe that there are 730 of you here, subscribed and reading my ramblings on personal finances.
Also, I can't believe that each year my posts get viewed more and more, this year we are close to 80,000 times. That is about 1540 views a week on all articles that I have published, and interestingly, a big chunk of that comes from older articles.
That’s one of the reasons I keep going, to keep learning and sharing with you all.
Now, let me show you a bit about my process, how I write and what you don’t see behind the scenes of this blog.
?To be transparent, each article takes between 10 and 30 hours of work. This includes at least 5 hours of research, 2-3 hours of writing, 1 hour of anxious procrastination, 1 hour of editing by my amazing editor (thank you!) and an hour for me to get it published.
?My favourite part is researching the topic, collating all expert opinions and sprinkling a bit of my experience to get the article ready. Don’t get me wrong, I love the writing process, especially when it happens in the most random of places:
(Me writing early in the morning before my flight)
(Or on the way to a holiday with friends)
领英推荐
(Or that one time I was trying to convince the cows of Oxford to tell me the secrets to their side hustle)
In the end, they didn’t tell me anything and I published the article as it was.
But the most epic memories are often those we expect the least, the times when someone messages me and tells me how much my advice has helped them. And I am extremely happy that those moments are more frequent each year!
Thank you all for your support, the comments, the help and the recommendations. Now, it’s time for me to go and show you all the other things I have ready to share with you!
Next week, I will tell you all about my new views on budgeting. How I think about budgeting and what I would do if I had to start my journey all over again.
Thank you for reading! All comments and topic suggestions are highly appreciated. Post #104 in the series CFO of Life #si #personalfinance #CFOofLife
