Engineering a Cyber-Informed Energy Infrastructure?

Cyber-Informed Engineering (CIE) leverages engineers and engineering design to provide deterministic controls that reduce the damage potential of a cyber attack. CIE offers a framework to integrate engineering controls that reduce or mitigate the impact of cyber threats into any physical system used in critical infrastructure, energy or otherwise. CIE guides engineers to consider the worst-case scenarios of cyber attacks on their designs, and allows for engineering teams and cybersecurity teams to collectively design solutions that can mitigate what an adversary could do.?
DOE CESER and the State of Industrial Control System Cybersecurity Training Opportunity is Now Open for Submissions?

As part of a larger effort to strengthen its cybersecurity workforce strategy, U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) is accepting submissions for its State of Industrial Control System Cybersecurity (ICS) Training opportunity. This effort will fund market research to better understand the ICS and operational technology (OT) cybersecurity workforce landscape and future needs in the energy sector.?
University of Central Florida’s A Team with A Dream Is Crowned the Winner at the 2024 DOE CyberForce Competition??

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) and the DOE Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne) announced the winners of the tenth CyberForce Competition? held November 9 in St. Charles, Illinois. At the end of the event, A Team with A Dream from the University of Central Florida was crowned the champion, defeating 90 teams from 71 unique universities and colleges across the United States.?

U.S. AI Safety Institute Establishes New U.S. Government Taskforce to Collaborate on Research and Testing of AI Models to Manage National Security Capabilities and Risks?
The U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced the formation of the Testing Risks of AI for National Security (TRAINS) Taskforce, which brings together partners from across the U.S. Government to identify, measure, and manage the emerging national security and public safety implications of rapidly evolving AI technology. This announcement comes as the United States is set to host the first-ever convening of the International Network of AI Safety Institutes in San Francisco.?
