CES Fuels the Future of Automotive

Walking the show floor at CES always points to the biggest trends in technology. It is always a good indicator of what is to come in the year ahead. Last year, we saw the continued rise of digital health, connected, cars, and smart homes, just to name a few. This year, much talk is squarely centered around AI (artificial intelligence), sustainability, and greater mobility, as people are returning to work and travel in droves, with eyes peeled on the future.

It's no surprise then some of the biggest announcements from this year’s show surround mobility and sustainability. A few examples start in the automotive cockpit.

Many companies have indicated our cars are only going to get smarter. For example, ADLINK has joined forces with TIER IV, to make autonomous vehicles safer and scalable. ADLINK’s ADM-AL30 is the central AI computing platform for autonomous vehicles, while the RQX-59 Series offers edge perception capabilities. This collaboration integrates edge AI technology, autonomous driving software, and heterogeneous computing to address industry challenges and help us move toward level 4 autonomy.

But it doesn’t end there. ADLINK is also focused on making the cockpit a little smarter too. For instance, in collaboration with AUO’s Smart Cockpit, the companies aim to provide function integration for cluster, CID (central information display), DMS (driver monitoring system), and passenger infotainment system, ensuring seamless fusion and reducing the number of installed control units at the same time.

Certainly, this is only one example among a bevy of announcements to come out of the show last week. We also say HARMAN, a Samsung Co., announced it is transforming the in-cabin experience with Samsung Synergies and other new industry partnerships. HARMAN and Samsung pull relevant consumer technology innovations—such as displays powered by Samsung Neo QLED—into the automotive environment. Here we see new additions to the Ready product portfolio combine HARMAN and Samsung to enhance safety, personalization, and sustainability for automakers and consumers.
