CES 2020 Trends: Augmented Realty Ranks #1
CES2020 is always an interesting experience. One part planning, one part total freestyle when you land in Las Vegas. Improvisation is the key with the swarm of 175,000+ guests.
My background and lens looking at CES is as a media hacker and Alumni. My small team took the Digital Health and #Wearables category to #1 overall at CES our first year and for then 3 years straight in total. A lot of what happens at CES is all hype. The key is to look past the hype by using a finely tuned lens and analytics.
Augmented Reality - Leads the Analytics
My friends at Buzz Radar provide the analytics for CES. As you see below AR led the pack this year with AI, Gaming/VR, Smart Home and Eureka Park Startup Zone on the top leaderboard.
Psychometric Profiling
Analytics are getting more sophisticated and tying into key human telemetry metrics. Per Buzz Radar - "With your psychometric profile, you’ll know more about what moves the needle for you, what brands you should check out, what areas of CES will capture your attention best, and how to get the most out of CES. Attendees are grouped into one of eight personality types based on their OCEANS (Big 5) personality score. These types help give you an overview of your tendencies."
The key with analytics is data quality and how accurate the tools are to extract real actionable intelligence. I personally would love to see all of the CES analytics from the website to the mobile application. Then all of the participating company analytics from websites, social media to deal new contact and close ratios.

Cheers, Tim
Sadly, I've never been able to attend. Tis on my bucket list, though.
