Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (20-26 January)
As many of you know I support Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, the UK’s leading cervical cancer charity following my own diagnosis during my 2nd pregnancy almost 20 years ago.
During Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (20-26 January), we will be launching a campaign that will focus on raising awareness of, and tackling myths around, HPV as well as informing the public about the important change to HPV primary testing in the cervical screening programme.
Since leaving the military I am especially passionate about the need to raise awareness of the importance of screening as well as tackling misinformation around HPV so that more women in and out of service feel comfortable and able to attend their tests and so we can get closer to making cervical cancer a thing of the past.
I would be grateful if you could show your support for Cervical Cancer Prevention Week with your media outlet/contacts, magazines, websites, social media and by tweeting the following:
- HPV can be confusing for women in or out of service, there shouldn’t be any shame around it. I’m supporting @JoTrust @aar0nn @1Cervical and #CCAW #SmearForSmear to smear the myths and get the facts out!
***Photoshoot will take place on Fri 24th at 11am in Southbeach Surgery, Ardrossan All are welcome.
