Leadership Can Only Begin From Within.

I was interviewed twice last week on Leading during this current crisis and yes many points were addressed but I would like to share a few today.

UNIQUE TIMES

We all are living in unique times, in the middle of life-changing circumstances and its great to be sharing leadership insights along the way to encourage and add value to you all during this period that we are currently healing through.

So far, well at least since the Virus hit us big time, 2020 hasn’t been what anyone expected on a global scale. The challenges of the past few months have left many people wondering if the world will ever break free from this period of hardship or even the long-lasting impact it will have for generations. There are signs that things are getting better, nevertheless, the effect that this situation has had around the globe will influence us all with lasting changes.

CERTAINTY AND UNCERTAINTY

We do not know where we're going yet, so the uncertainty is there, but we know it's going to look differently, there's going to be a new normal.” This is certain

And I think the thing is where people are in uncertainty, it makes them feel very insecure, and then they say, “The only thing I'm certain about, is that it’s not going to be the same as it was.”

Those two thoughts are either going to help a person go forward or, to be honest with you, it's going to cause people to go backwards.

This is a chance to reintroduce yourself to you, a new you, a better you, a bigger you, a growing you, and I don't want people to miss that. And if you don't embrace new normal, you won't have the new you.

You fight the new normal and you'll be left behind. Because the world doesn't wait for you to agree or buy it; the world moves.

And so, you either can fight it and keep getting farther behind because it's going to keep going. Or, you can join it and grow and become a better person

POSITIONAL LEADERS

Leadership isn’t a position that you’re appointed to, so often I get asked, “Pushpa are Leaders Born?’ Well everyone is born with their own geniuses and some may be better in their Leadership then others, however if these ‘natural born leaders’, are not consistent in their growth, they will become stagnant and that will impact all their followers by limiting their growth too.

A reflection of true leadership rightfully, I think is for the real heroes of COVID-19, our healthcare workers. They need to be appreciated; they deserve everything. I mean, they have been on the frontlines of the battle. And I think that they have been rightfully, greatly, admired

The sad thing with some of our positional leaders, is that someone of them are trying to position themselves as an advantage of something that's been a terrible disadvantage to so many people

Leadership can be taught and learnt, if you have the desire to embrace it, improve and develop the characteristics and qualities. EVERYONE and ANYONE is and can be an Exceptional Leader in Life.

As you know, great Leaders, main priority for existence is to add value and create to develop new leaders and the fact is they cannot give what they don’t have.

My desire has always been to help develop others attain the right attitude, discover strengths, tap into their passion, so that they become more in touch with what they are designed for and can live better quality full lives

ANCIENT LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES IN A MODERN CONTEXT:

I have researched and learnt about many ancient principles, wisdom from all differing cultures around Life and Leadership. I meditated, learnt, applied, adapted, reflected, trained my mind and spirit to ignite personal growth so that I could invest my life in equipping others and live my Why.

During the past decade we have witnessed an increase in the amount of literature on applying ancient wisdom in the context of leadership. Awareness is a critical characteristic of holistic leadership because it is required for emotional intelligence.

As described by Daniel Goleman in his book, Emotional Intelligence: Why it can matter more than IQ, awareness of self and others is key to being able to manage one’s emotions and relationships.

Looking forward to sharing more from the Interviews in my weekly Blogs.

Thank you so much for joining me
