Coalgas has always been a happy companion in ceramic industry In 2005 Coalgas was introduced in ceramic industry which was approved by GPCB. Due to disputes and court matters, A, B, C and D (Hot Gasifiers) came due to necessary suggestions and changes by the teams of NEERI, CPCB, GPCB. Gas prices were under control till coal gas was there. But the industrialists of some big units are small A political encounter was made with Coalgas to kill the industry and implement price policy. Due to which small industries fell into recession. Big fish ate small fish and gasifiers were banned by NGT on 6/3/2019 which was written in advance in crypt secretariat. and the ground became clear for the share holders of the gas company and the skyrocketing price on the day which did not rise overnight broke the back of ceramic.
After the NGT verdict, a committee headed by retired Delhi High Court judge BC PTEL (also a Patidar) was formed and to keep the industry in a political clutch it was decided to levy a fine of Rs 5,000 per day which resolution has not been made public till date. That was implemented without any kind of explanation like collective and decided as per the custom of marriage Chandla in which till date ceramic officials have not asked that if approval is given by GPCB/CPCB then why should ceramic pay penalty?
The ceramic industry has always been used as a political laboratory for political funds and votes only, and ceramics have always been used to fund political events. At present there is a BJP government at the center and in the state which has the most distressed industries.
The association asked whether the bank guarantee given by GPCB during the closure order has not been returned till date. The bank guarantee of more than 265 crores of ceramic alone has been pressed by GPCB, whose communication is also political.
An important point and a questionable point is that NGT is a national level body whose mandate is applicable to whole India so why coal gas was banned only in Morbi Wankaner industrial cluster? In Gujarat and India gasifiers are ten times bigger than ceramic ones. Still ongoing. Gasifiers are not harmful if connected to steel plant but only harmful to ceramic industry which directly means elimination of gas alternative for ceramics which has not been studied till date by ceramic association.
The NGT imposed a penalty of 80000 crores on UTS (Union Territory States) from 2022 to 2023 in which Tamil Nadu – 15419 crores, Maharashtra – 12000 crores. Madhya Pradesh – 9688 crores, Gujarat 2100 crores etc. This is only from the state government. Privately do not provide information to us as copyright applies.
According to the meeting of the Ceramic Association held today, if even 1% fine is paid, no one can save the ceramic from this penalty because this step is a confession which is suicidal. The government has been washed by the ceramic until today and now the government is giving the excuse of the court to the ceramic. is
At present, more than 150 factories have been closed and some have even been distributed, in which there is a possibility of major social conflict due to the impact of fines.
